NTA expected to release the advance intimation to exam city slip by April-end and the NEET UG 2023 admit card expected to released in the fourth week of April or the first week of May. NEET 2023 application process concluded on April 15. Over 21 lakh candidates have reportedly registered for the exam this year, surpassing the previous years’ numbers. Meanwhile, students are again requesting the authorities to postpone the, which is scheduled to be conducted on May 7.
They are demanding exam deferment on the social media platform Twitter under the hashtag #postponeNEETUG2023. The tweets have tagged to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. However, with less than a month to go for the exam, it is unlikely that the exam date will be postponed.
NTA reopened the NEET 2023 Application Process from April 12 to April 15, 11.59 PM. The original dates for reopening the NEET 2023 application process were April 11 to April 13. However, the registration link deactivated soon after activation on April 11 citing reason of under maintenance. While the application process concluded on April 6, a number of students and stakeholders urged NTA to reopen the application window as they could not complete the process due to technical and server glitches. As per reports, over 21 lakh registrations have received so far, surpassing the past years’ records.
The NEET 2023 exam will be conducted on May 7. The detailed notification of NEET and NEET 2023 application forms was released on March 6. The last date for application was April 6. The application correction window has opened on April 8, till April 10, 11.50 PM.
NTA revised the NEET UG 2023 information bulletin as per the judgment passed by the Supreme Court of India dated March 3. According to the amendment, OCI category candidates now eligible to apply for the medical courses reserved for Indian citizens. As per the latest notification released by the National Testing Agency (NTA), the NEET UG 2023 information bulletin has been revised based on the judgement by the Supreme Court of India dated February 3. Earlier, OCI candidates considered at par with the Non-Resident Indian (NRI) candidates and not eligible to take admission to seats reserved exclusively for Indian citizens.
This year, NTA has brought a number of changes in the application process. Some of this includes an increase in the application fee, document uploading, exam city selection, number of exam cities, etc. The tie-breaking criteria have also revised this year. Moreover, NTA has also removed the cutoff date of SC/ST certificate generation, which has to be uploaded in the NEET 2023 application form. Earlier, the date was mentioned as April 1, 2022, but now, there is no such cutoff date.
The NEET 2023 exam date announced by the National Testing Agency (NTA), the exam conducting body on December 15. Since then, a number of students requested NTA to postpone the NEET 2023 date to June. Some of the candidates who are reappearing for NEET UG 2023, have urged NTA to postpone the exam date to get more time for preparation. The NEET UG 2022 counselling process for MBBS, BDS and BSc Nursing concluded on January 14. However, it is unlikely that NTA will postpone the exam since the NEET 2023 official notification and application forms have been released.
