About Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, Burla

The campus sprawls over acre of land at the heart of Burla town surrounded by Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology (VSSUT) and Sambalpur University on both the sides. On the south a mountain range can be seen which intermingles with Debrigarh sanctuary and the famous “Barapahad” Jungle. On the opposite side Mahanadi River goes across Burla with rock paintings on her bed singing the song of life.  The serene blue waters of Hirakud reservoir, queer and beautiful birds of far North, power channel, Right dyke, Minar, siphon, picnic spots, jhakarani temple, Iskon temple, Ghanteswari, Samaleswari temple and the tilted Huma temple nearby makes the whole atmosphere serene, graceful and spiritual.

Hostel

Each hostel is equipped with a mess with kitchen facility, TV room, Common room, Reading Room besides common toilet facility; each room is furnished with study table, rack and a cot. The mess runs on outsourcing basis with supervision and monitoring by hostel secretary and the warden and sub-warden. The mess dues are directly payable to the mess manager.
Each hostel is under the responsibility and supervision of one warden and one sub-warden chosen from amongst the college faculty. There is one Hostel secretary and one asst hostel secretary nominated from the boarders of the hostel. Sanitation and Security   services are provided for the hostels.

Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research formerly called V.S.S. Medical College and Hospital situated by the side of Hirakud Dam began her march to fame with a spirit of nationalism and an urge to serve, educate and innovate. The present eminence is the culmination of efforts of countless men and women who gave their best under good circumstances and also during difficult situations. This rural medical college has many dreams yet to be realized.  Catering the health needs of Western Odisha, part of Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand fully in view of rapid urbanization and industrialization in the vicinity it needs rapid expansion and state of the art facilities soon to keep its old tradition and meeting these challenges.

Eligibility & Admission Process for Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, Burla
