Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM) is a government-funded university established in 2000. Its founding was inspired by the vision of then-Prime Minister Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad, who aimed to integrate Islamic studies into higher education, blending Islam with science and incorporating it into the national education system.

While most faculties moved to Nilai, Negeri Sembilan in August 2005, the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences relocated to Menara B MPAJ after necessary renovations were completed. Today, USIM boasts eight faculties, including the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, which is based on the Pandan Indah campus, close to Kuala Lumpur city center.

The Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences began its operations in 2005 with an inaugural intake of 29 students. These students have since graduated as medical doctors and are now serving as medical officers within the Malaysian Ministry of Health. Currently, 317 students are pursuing their medical education at the faculty, which has been fully accredited by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency and the Malaysian Medical Council.
