About Sri Siddhartha Medical College, Tumkur

Sri Siddhartha Academy of Higher Education, (declared as Deemed to be University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956) Tumkur, was established vide MHRD GOI No. F.9-31/2006-U.3 (A) dated: 30/05/2008 of Govt. of India. Sri Siddhartha Medical College and Sri Siddhartha Dental College have been functioning as constituent colleges of Sri Siddhartha Academy of Higher Education since 01/06/2008.

Further as per Govt. of India notification vide No. F.9-31/2006-U.3(A) Dated. 16/12/2008, the UGC in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, included Sri Siddhartha Institute of Technology, Maralur, Tumkur, as an off-campus constituent teaching unit of Sri Siddhartha Academy of Higher Education, Tumkur with effect from 06/03/2009.

SSMC Hospital

SSMC Hospital has separate building for OPD and causality with independent departments of Medicine, Surgery, OBG, Ophthalmology, Orthopaedics, Paediatrics, ENT, Dermatology, and Radiology.

It is a 970 + bedded hospital, equipped with 12 major operation theatres in addition to minor operation theatres. SSMC is catering the needs of rural population. There are skilled doctors with specially trained nurses to give a healing touch to the patients. The Hospital building houses a post office and a bank to serve the needs of staff, students and the public. A canteen, hospital mess, fruit stall and a phone booth to cater the needs of the public are made available.

Eligibility & Admission Process for Sri Siddhartha Medical College, Tumkur

Eligibility MBBS

– Pass with minimum 50 % marks in Intermediate (Bi.P.C)

– Must Qualify in NEET (National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test)

Admission Process

Admission to the MBBS programme is based on candidates’ performance in NEET. Once the NEET results are declared, then the eligible candidates are called for counselling process.
