About Pt. J N M Medical College, Raipur

Pt J.N.M. Medical College Raipur came in to existence on 9th September 1963 when the college was started with 60 students in a small OPD block of Ayurvedic College. The college received recognition from Medical Council of India in 1969. MBBS seats were increased from 100 to 150 in the year 2009 and all 150 seats were recognized in the year 2015. At present college have 180 MBBS seats since year 2019.

P.G. courses were started in the year 1971-72. College has 142 MD/MS seats in the various departments for year 2021 PG course. On 30th September 1976, the construction of the new college building in its present location was completed with four modern lecture theatres fully equipped with audio visual facility, dissection halls, laboratories, a very well stocked library and complete indoor and outdoor sports facilities.

The college has two auditoriums from that one auditorium have 500 capacity and second one have 750 capacities fully equipped with modern audio video equipment’s. Most of the scientific, social and cultural gatherings conducted in the auditorium round the year due to its ample capacity and central location. Apart from academic activities the student body actively participates in various extracurricular activities like sports, fine arts, literary events, drama, dances etc.

Central Library

In order to full fill the main objectives of this institute to promote research in areas which will act as an effective link between Health Care Delivery System and knowledge in Health Sciences. The library was started in the year 1963.There are 20000(approx.) books available in library and back volume of journal available 10000(approx.). Inside & outside reading room available for students. Internet facility available in library for students & staff.

Auditorium

The college has 1500 seated Auditorium besides the main building. It is the venue for most of the scientific, social and cultural gathering round the year. It is a famous auditorium of Raipur city which is also used by other Government and Private departments for many activities.

Hostel

There are two girls’ hostel to accommodate 200 girl students and two boys’ hostel to accommodate 150 boys and one PG hostel.

Admission Process

Admission to the MBBS programme is based on candidates’ performance in NEET. Once the NEET results are declared, then the eligible candidates are called for counselling process.
