About North Delhi Municipal Corporation Medical College, Delhi
North DMC Medical College established in 2013. Mr P K Gupta Commissioner and Mr Mayank Sharma, Additional Commissioner (H) conceived this project North DMC. The college started on the Hindu Rao Hospital Premises, after fulfilling all the requirements of Medical Council of India for letter of Intent, and letter of permission (LOP) for establishing the new medical college and its renewals under section 10A of Indian Medical Council Act 1956 respectively. North DMC Medical College affiliated with Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Dwarka, Delhi.
First batch of 50 UG MBBS students took admission in North DMC Medical College in August (2013-14). The second batch of 50 students took admission in August (2014-15). The permission for admission of 3rd batch of 50 MBBS student (2015-16) approved by Central Government, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (ME P-II Section) vide letter no: U-12012/79/2015-ME (P-II) dated: 10.06.2015 and 49 students took admission for the session 2015-16. Dr Rajeev Grover (Dr Dinesh Negi earlier) & Dr Alka Puri appointed as CMO’s to look after the administrative and academic activities respectively of the college.

Hindu Rao Hospital
Hindu Rao Hospital is the largest multi-specialty hospital, run by North DMC catering to all sections of the society. In addition to the free OPD and in- patient services, it also offers reasonably priced facilities of a Nursing Home that has 48 spacious rooms.
The strategic location of the hospital, its size and the breadth of preventive, promotive and curative services and the easy and cost-effective accessibility to specialized services that it offers has succeeded in creating a large regular clientele for the hospital. Though it primarily caters to a population of about 18 lacs –largely from North Delhi, its services are also utilized by patients from rural areas, towns from neighbouring states and even from far off places like Assam & Meghalaya.

This hospital is managed and controlled by M.C.D and is functioning under the supervision of Director Health Services-cum-Municipal Health Officer and the guidance of Additional Commissioner (Health). It offers a large and well-diversified menu of preventive, promotive and curative services ranging from the blood examination, provision of anti-rabies vaccine, to CAT scan, Endoscopy, Hemo dialysis and YAG LASER photocoagulation.
The hospital is reasonably well equipped with modern diagnostic, therapeutic, and residential facilities. It has a sanctioned bed strength of 980 which many a times (epidemics, natural calamities, accidents etc) needs to be supplemented with extra beds. It provides Casualty and Emergency services round the clock.
The hospital has a well-established network for referral to other hospitals (Sushruta Trauma Centre) and has a pool of ambulances to transport the patients. The hospital is recognized as a teaching institution for Diploma in Anaesthesia and DNB in many specialties. Presently the eighth batch of DNB students is receiving their training in Hindu Rao Hospital.

Admission to the MBBS programme is based on candidates’ performance in NEET. Once the NEET results are declared, then the eligible candidates are called for counselling process.
