Born on January 28, 1944, in the village of Kamlaur in the Magura district, he came from a respected Muslim family. His parents were Dr. Ebadat Ali Khan and Begum Rawshan Ara Khan. He was the second child among four brothers and three sisters and was blessed with two daughters and two sons.

Dr. Khan’s academic excellence was evident from a young age. He completed his matriculation from Dhaka Board in 1959 and his intermediate studies from Dhaka University in 1961, subsequently enrolling at Dhaka Medical College to pursue a career in medicine. He earned his MBBS degree in 1967 and joined the Pakistan Army Medical Corps with one-year seniority in January 1968.

In 1975, he obtained a Diploma in Laryngology and Otology (D.L.O.) in ENT, followed by a Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Glasgow (FRCS) in 1980. His training included pre-fellowship courses in ENT and general surgery at the Institute of Laryngology and Otology, Royal National Ear Nose & Throat Hospital, under the University of London, and further specialization at Royal Marsden & Guy’s Hospital, London. He also pursued advanced training in endoscopic sinus surgery at Johns Hopkins University Hospital, USA, from July to October 1989.

Dr. Khan served as an examiner for the MBBS program at Tribhuvan University in Nepal and retired as a Brigadier General in 2002, leaving behind a legacy of excellence. In 2003, the American Biographical Institute selected him for the “WHO IS WHO” list, and in 2005, he was awarded the “Gold Medal” for outstanding achievements in health sciences.
