Jagannath Gupta Institute of Medical Sciences and Hospital (JIMSH) is a renowned and leading multi-specialty hospital located at Budge Budge, Buita, Kolkata-700137. Since its establishment in the year 2016, it has been successfully serving people from West Bengal as well as from other states. Lecture Halls & Examination Halls

Four Air-Conditioned Lecture Theatres with a seating capacity of 180 students each.

All Lecture Theatres are equipped with world class audio-visual aids & are under 24 hours CCTV surveillance. All Lecture Classes are recorded & students also have the facility to attend live classes from the hostel in case of any illness with prior permission from the concerned authority.  The Examination Hall is also equipped with Audio-Visual facilities and can be utilised as a Lecture Hall as well. The Lecture Halls are not used for academic purposes per se (guest lectures, clinical meetings, conferences, seminars, workshops) but are also used for co-scholastic pursuits as well as other cultural activities that would augment a holistic development of the students.

Central Library

JIMSH consists of a Central Library and 17 Departmental Libraries, which collectively support the teaching, research and extension programmes of the college. The Central Library is well equipped with modern facilities and resources in the form of books, journals, back volume of journals, theses, WHO publications, CD ROMs and internet services. The Central Library has a well-equipped reference section where books are provided for the purpose of reading only and are not lent.

Demo Rooms

Each Department has their own demonstration room with a seating capacity of 75 students each. Each Demonstration Room is equipped with world class audio-visual aids & is under 24 hours CCTV surveillance.

Sports & Games

The campus has facilities for outdoor games like Cricket, Football, Volleyball, Basketball and a 400-meter track for athletics. The indoor sports complex at JIMSH offers provision for indoor games like carom, chess and others. The Physical Education department, under the supervision of a qualified Physical Director caters to the physical development of the students. The responsibility of the Physical Director is to conduct and supervise all intramural activities for the entire year. This is to ensure that students are well-trained and competitive in any state or national level event. JIMSH also has provision for a playing arena for girls where students can indulge in sports like badminton, football, throw ball and basketball.

The goal of the department is to train students to become doctors who have an astute clinical sense, requisite latest medical knowledge and good clinical skills to serve the medical needs of our society and overall to develop a humane, sympathetic caring attitude and be a fit leader of the medical team.

Department of General Medicine caters the needs of undergraduate students and provides round the clock patient related services. On the education front the dedicated faculty in the department is actively involved in providing need based learning and good clinical skill development. Clinical Research is given top priority. The faculties are involved in clinical research and will guide the students in various research activities.

On the patient front the department provides outpatient services, round the clock emergency, ICU services and regular inpatient services. The department of provides the fundamental base for the diagnosis and treatment of patients. This department works 24 hours, 7 days a week for taking care of patients in OUT PATIENT & IN PATIENT department. This department will train the upcoming Doctors – “Evidence based Medicine” and to deal with all medical emergencies.

Eligibility & Admission Process for Jagannath Gupta Institute of Medical Sciences & Hospital, Kolkata

Eligibility MBBS

– Pass with minimum 50 % marks in Intermediate (Bi.P.C)

– Must Qualify in NEET (National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test)

Admission Process

Admission to the MBBS programme is based on candidates’ performance in NEET. Once the NEET results are declared, then the eligible candidates are called for counselling process.
