About Government Medical College, Ramagundam
The Institute is spread over an area of 21 acres housing various buildings like Pre & Para Clinical Departments, Boy’s & Girl’s Hostels, Academic Block, various Residential Blocks, etc. It has 2 lecture theatres with all modern teaching facilities, well equipped laboratories, Demonstration rooms and state of the art Library. The Clinical Departments are housed in the Govt. General Hospital, Ramagundam.
Presently the Institute is offering only MBBS course with an annual intake capacity of 150 students, but in near future various courses like MD, Nursing and Paramedical will be introduced. Recreation and sports facilities will be developed for the overall development of the students.

About Ramagundam
Ramagundam is a city and municipal corporation in Peddapalli district of the Indian state of Telangana. It is the most populous city in the district and falls under the Peddapalli revenue division. It is located on the banks of the Godavari River. As of the 2011 census, the city had a population of 229,644, making it the 6th most populous in the state, and an urban agglomeration population of 242,979. It is located about 225 km from the state capital Hyderabad.
Ramagundam is located at 18.7638�N 79.4750�E. It has an average elevation of 179 meters (590 feet). It is about 225 kilometres northeast to the state capital, Hyderabad, 65 km from Karimnagar and 29 km from Peddapalli district headquarters.
Ramagundam city is situated in the Godavari valley coalfields and has one of the India’s largest thermal power stations in south region under NTPC. Mostly industries are connected with Godavarikhani- NTPC Ramagundam. Some of them are Singareni, Fertilizer Corporation of India, Kesoram Cement, Basanth Nagar and National Fertilizers Limited.
Sripada Yellampalli project, an irrigation project, is also located near Ramagundam and Singareni’s first Solar Power Plant of capacity 50 MW has been proposed at Ramagundam.
