About Government Medical College, Kanker
Government Medical College (GMC) Kanker, Chhattisgarh, was established in March 2020, to provide excellent medical education and the best healthcare facilities to the people of the Bastar division and neighbouring districts.
The institute is associated with a 350-bed hospital that currently operates under the Komaldev District Hospital Kanker. Kanker Maharaja Komaldev Ji made a public donation in 1928, and since then it serves as the main hospital for the region. When Kanker became a district in 1998, the hospital was declared its District Hospital.
GMC Kanker received its letter of intent on 20/10/2021 and its letter of permission on 01/11/2021 to allocate 100 MBBS seats for the academic year 2021-22 by the Medical Assessment and Rating Board, National Medical Commission India.
GMC Kanker is equipped and dedicated to providing basic as well as advanced healthcare facilities to the community. The college will also host some of the best medical teachers and academics to impart excellent medical education and training to its students. The students will be accommodated in hostels for both girls and boys.
GMC Kanker is affiliated with Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Memorial Health Sciences and Ayush University Raipur, Chhattisgarh. The institute’s aim and mission are to grow as a centre of excellence in the field of medical education and training in India.

Eligibility & Admission Process for Government Medical College, Kanker
