About Government Institute of Medical Sciences
The Government Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS) Greater Noida, Gautam Buddha Nagar (UP) is an autonomous institute under Govt of UP, established on the lines of SGPGI and started its operation on 15th February, 2016.
The institute is affiliated to the prestigious King George’s Medical University Lucknow. The Chairperson of the Institute is Shri R K Tiwari, (IAS), Chief Secretary, Govt. of Uttar Pradesh; Vice Chairperson is Shri Alok Kumar (IAS), Principal Secretary Medical Education, Govt of Uttar Pradesh. The Director of the institute Dr. (Brig) Rakesh Gupta, MD (Paeds), M Phil (HHSM), FIAP is highly accomplished Paediatrician, and served as Consultant/ Faculty at prestigious hospitals of Armed Forces Medical Services and was heading the department of paediatrics, Armed Forces Medical College Pune. Chief Medical Superintendent Dr. Saurabh Srivastava, MD (Medicine) is an experienced Physician and able administrator. Dr. Rambha Pathak MD (Community Medicine) is the DEAN and Head of Community Medicine Department.

GIRLS HOSTEL
GIMS is having a separate hostel for girls, which is situated inside the campus of Gautam Buddha University. It is named after a famous Indian writer Ismat Chughtai. Hostel is having four floors with the capacity of total 200 single rooms. Rooms are well ventilated. Each floor is having Water Purifier with Cold Water Dispenser. Hostel has a recreation room, reading room with computer facility.
BOYS HOSTEL
GIMS is having a separate hostel for boys, which is situated inside the campus of Gautam Buddha University. It is named after a famous writer of Hindi and Urdu literature Munshi Premchand. Munshi Premchand Boys Hostel is having four floors with the capacity of total 245 single rooms. Rooms are well furnished with required Furniture and Electrical fittings. Each floor is having Water Purifier with Cold Water Dispenser.
MEDITATION CENTRE
A meditation centre, with its somber domed form echoes the architectural symbolism of a stupa. It was designed to visually tie the earth with the sky when viewed in the horizon.
MAGNIFICIENT CAMPUS ARCHITECT
The architecture of the academic block as one petal of a megalotus structure of Gautam Buddha University provides deep seated serenity and calm for good novel research ideas.

Government Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS) Greater Noida, Gautam Buddha Nagar (UP) is an autonomous medical teaching institute established by State Government of Uttar Pradesh on 15th February 2016. GIMS is registered with the society as an autonomous institution on the lines of SGPGI and affiliated with prestigious King George’s Medical University, Lucknow.
GIMS is located in Greater Noida, near Kasna in Gautam Buddha Nagar in Delhi NCR region. It is located next to Yamuna expressway and Eastern peripheral express way and has good accessibility and connectivity. The patients from whole western Uttar Pradesh districts like Gautam Buddha Nagar, Hapur, Baghpat, Meerut, Bulandshehar, Khurja, Jewar, Mathura and neighbouring areas are visiting this hospital for treatment. Recently, the biggest airport of Asia is being developed in Jewar and also GB Nagar is the industrial hub of Uttar Pradesh, and there is no tertiary level Government hospital in the region.
GIMS was established with an aim to improve the status of health of the rural and urban population of western Uttar Pradesh, by providing a state-of-the-art health facility as well as facilitating equitable access to quality health care through a revamped health care system, targeted outreach services as well as involvement of community and local bodies.
The Vision of the institute is to develop GIMS as a “Centre of Excellence in Patient care, Medical Education and Biomedical Research”. There are over 100 Research projects are undergoing including 11 Extramural projects under aegis of ICMR, CSIR, WHO, Ministry of Health and Family welfare and Ayush. The Institute is conducting MBBS course for 100 students since 01 August 2019 and post graduate courses (DNB) in Medicine, Obs & Gynae, Paediatrics and Anaesthesia, through National Board of Examinations.

Eligibility & Admission Process for Government Institute of Medical Sciences
Eligibility MBBS
– Pass with minimum 50 % marks in Intermediate (Bi.P.C)
– Must Qualify in NEET (National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test)
Admission Process
Admission to the MBBS programme is based on candidates’ performance in NEET. Once the NEET results are declared, then the eligible candidates are called for counselling process.
