About Dr. Vasantrao Pawar Medical College, Hospital & Research Centre, Nashik
At the beginning of 20th century when the social, political and economic condition of the villagers in interior Maharashtra was in utter chaos and the downtrodden people of the Bahujan Samaj, Adivasis and Dalits were living a helpless and hopeless life, the visionaries realized that the only answer to their woes was education. Armed with education as an instrument for all-round progress and with the mission of spreading knowledge and building a progressively cultured society, this institute has spread education to the poorest of poor into the interiors of all villages of Nasik district.
What started in 1914 as a hostel for 5 boarders as Udoji Maratha Boarding, today caters to the educational need of 1,66,996 students in various branches thus moulding their future.It is easy to establish an institute but difficult to nurture, grow, and maintain its growth. Since its inception and keeping in pace with the times, the institute has slowly, steadily and continuously added various courses to its name and today has 342 branches all over the district which include pre-primary, primary, secondary, higher secondary schools, Arts, Science, Commerce colleges, Industrial Training Institutes, Law college, B.Ed. college, D.Ed. college and offers Professional courses like Pharmacy, Engineering, Architecture, Nursing, Physiotherapy, Medical, etc.

The medical college was established in 1990, with the modest hospital in the auspicious premises of Udoji Maratha boarding and classes run in the KTHM college with an intake capacity of 100 students. In 1992 this intake increased to 120. In 1994 the college shifted to 54 acres campus of Adgaon.The campus has good connectivity to all populations as it situated on the National Highway.

Gym & Yoga Centre
Institute has provided the facility of well-furnished gymnasium in 1645 sq. ft. area to ensure physical fitness of students as well as faculty.
- Separate trainer is appointed who takes care of all gymnasium activities.
- Gymnasium includes 9 gym stations, flat benches, inclined benches, Exercise cycle, dumbbells, barbells, pull-up bar, power pack, bench, tread mill, cycle.
- A green gym has been installed at main ground and all these are used by students and staff to enhance their fitness and health while simultaneously improving the outdoor environment.
- This modern gym is enabling students and staff to remain fit who would not normally attend a conventional gym or sports centre.
- Yoga centre is also available with a capacity of nearly 120 students. Yoga and meditation sessions are organized for staff and students by Yoga cell.
Transport
Students are transported in the college buses for all of the academic and non-academic outdoor activities like field visits, health camps, social service camps, trekking, and nature trips throughout the year. Patients and their relatives are provided free transport by battery operated vehicle to and for for bust stop on National Highway. Teaching & non-teaching staff are also utilising transport facility provided by institute on routine basis.
