Baba Sahib Ambedkar Medical College and Hospital is an academic health sciences centre that established with an aim to provide leadership and excellence in the field of teaching, clinical care and service in a student-centred comprehensive campus.

The institute committed to the advancement of knowledge and intellectual growth through teaching and research, and at the same time, to the well-being of the people of Delhi through communicative leadership and service with a smile.

Named after the leading activist, social reformer, first Law Minister of Free India and the chief architect of the Constitution of India, the Dr. Baba Saheb Ambedkar Medical College, has been established by the Government of NCT of Delhi in the existing 29.4 acre campus, where the 540 bedded Dr. Baba Saheb Ambedkar Hospital located.

The college inaugurated by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Delhi Sh. Arvind Kejriwal, Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi Sh. Manish Sisodia and Hon’ble Heath Minister Sh. Satyendra Jain on 12th June 2016.

The first batch of 98 students took admission and welcomed to the world of medical academics by the Hon’ble Health Minister Sh. Satyendra Jain and the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of the GGSIPU at a glittering White Coat Donning ceremony.

The college is since ready for intake of the second batch of 100 students from coming academic session. The dream of the people of Delhi to have quality medical education at affordable costs is now a reality.

Facilities/Infrastructure in Dr. Baba Saheb Ambedkar Medical College, Delhi

Lecture Theatre

They are Four Lecture Theatres. All Lecture theatres are theatre style, centrally air-conditioned with Audio-Visual aids & E-Class with video conferencing facilities. All lecture theatres located in the unified LT complex. There is another Lecture located in the hospital complex which is gallery type, airconditioned with e-class facility.

Demonstration Rooms

Situated in each individual department. Each demonstration room is of 45 sq. mts. with a capacity of 60 seats. Each Demonstration room equipped with all the necessary audio-visual equipment.

Common Rooms

Separate common rooms for boys and girls situated in administrative block of college with facilities of indoor games. The common rooms are of 100 sq mt each and have adjoining toilets.

Laboratories

Various laboratories are situated in each department as per requirement of the MCI.

Computer Lab

A bank of 25 computers located in the library with internet connection. One Computer Aided Learning (CAL) Laboratory is available with 25 computers in the Pharmacology department Another CAL lab being made available in the pre-clinical block and will be operational soon.

Skill Lab

A skill lab with simulators, mannequins, learning and simulator-based software is in the process of being established. All animal-based studies will be taught using the software for simulated studies.

Auditorium

One state of the art centrally air-conditioned auditorium with a seating capacity of 500 is available and which enabled with all A.V. aids. It is sound treated and situated in unified LT complex. 2-way video conferencing can be done from the auditorium.

Library

Layout and floor area: The 1600 sqm library located in a two storeyed centrally air-conditioned building in Block A. Reading Rooms Present: 3 nos. One in the main library complex on the ground floor, the 2nd on the first-floor library and the 3rd adjoining the library on the ground floor which is for 24-hour studies. Each of them has a capacity of 100 each. For Staff: There is a reading lounge with a capacity of 20 seats for the faculty members located on the ground floor of the library.
