Facilities / Infrastructure in Diamond Harbour Government Medical College and Hospital, West Bengal

Central Library

Diamond Harbour Govt. Medical College Central Library is intended for use of the students, researchers and faculties of the institute as well as medical staff of Diamond Harbour Govt. Medical College & Hospital. Centrally air-conditioned library (on 2nd & 3rd floor of Administrative Building, Diamond Harbour MCH) has been functioning since 2018. Free Internet facility is available for the library users at central library & Scanning facility is also available.

Diamond Harbour Govt. Medical College Central Library is situated on the entire 2nd & 3rd floor of the Administrative Building, Diamond Harbour MCH occupying almost 2180 Sq. area. There are four reading rooms and the seating capacity of the library is 366 as per the guideline of NMC for 100 U G intakes per year. The reading area of the students has been separated into two segments one inside reading room and another outside reading room (up stair) with 100 seating capacity each. The reading area for the faculties and PG students contains 45 seating capacity each in the inside of the library.

Skill Lab

A basic skills lab was set up at the inception of our Medical College in 2018 to which, advanced equipments have been added subsequently. Our state-of-the-art facilities are located on the top floor of our academic building. The system offers a range of basic and advanced procedures, and incorporates detailed and complete metrics for skill assessment. The lab is designed on a 3700 sq. foot area divided into eight cubicles to optimally use the equipments and expertise. Each cubicle has a specific station. The eight stations are Nursing station, Point of care, Covid care, Critical care (with equipment’s for teaching both BCLS and ACLS), Waste disposal, Gynaecology & Obstetrics, Paediatrics and Triage.

Hostel

Separate boys & girls’ hostels are available within DHGMC campus. DHGMC hostels are furnished with: AC study room with international & computer, AC visitor room

Sports & Recreation Facilities

Recreation room with TV & Music system, Indoor game room with multiple indoor games like Carrom board, Table tennis board etc.

It has a vast playground within campus with facility of playing cricket & football. A well-equipped functional Gymnasium is also there to keep the health of students fit physically & mentally. Most beautiful part is the lake within the campus with an island at its centre. It’s a place to watch for bird-watchers as variety of migratory birds come every year in the season. The lake has rich diversity of flora & fauna which will insinuates curiosities among students.

Eligibility & Admission Process for Diamond Harbour Government Medical College and Hospital, West Bengal
