Calcutta National Medical College is the new name of the Calcutta National Medical Institute (Estd 1948) which was established bu the amalgamation of National medical institute (Estd 1921) and Calcutta medical institute (Estd 1907) at 32 Gorachand Road, Calcutta-14.
Now the College and hospital is under the Department of Health & Family Welfare, Govt of West Bengal since 1967.

Calcutta National Medical College, Kolkata is located in Kolkata, West Bengal. It is also known as CNMC and offers courses to the students at UG, PG and Advanced Masters level. The institute offers a total of 28 courses to students including B.Sc, MD, MS, DM, MBBS, PG Diploma, UG Diploma, M.Ch. and B.Sc. (Post Basic). CNMC courses are offered across 20 specialisations such as Ophthalmology, Orthopaedics, Pathology, Pediatrics, Physiology, Psychiatry, Urology. The institute has a total seat intake capacity of 557 students and offers courses in Full Time mode. Further, the courses provided by the institute is approved by NMC, INC and CCIM. CNMC courses are offered to students in various streams such as Nursing and Medicine & Health Sciences

Eligibility And Admission Process For Calcutta National Medical College, Kolkata

Eligibility For MBBS

– Pass with minimum 50 % marks in Intermediate (Bi.P.C)

– Must Qualify in NEET (National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test)

Admission Process

Admission to the MBBS programme is based on candidates’ performance in NEET. Once the NEET results are declared, then the eligible candidates are called for counselling process.
