The Alluri Sitarama Raju Educational Society established in 1998 as charitable trust / society to promote good health and medical education in West Godavari Dist, Eluru. The Society established Alluri Sitarama Raju Academy of Medical Sciences Popularly known as ASRAM College, Asram College of Nursing and Para Medical Courses College from the inception.

Alluri Sitaramaraju Academy of Medical Sciences named after the famous freedom fighter Alluri Sitaramaraju. The Medical College and the attached Teaching Hospital established in 1999 as a non-profit society. The College and Hospital located in a vast area of about 100 acres. The campus located adjacent to National Highway no.5. It is 3 kms from Eluru Railway station and 35 kms from Gannavaram (Vijayawada) airport.

The Medical College started with an annual intake of 100 MBBS students. Necessary permissions from Medical Council of India, Government of India and Government of Andhra Pradesh obtained. The College affiliated to Dr NTR University of Health Sciences, Vijayawada. Post graduate courses in all Broad Specialties started in 2007. All Medical and surgical super specialties added. The MCI has permitted for increase in annual intake of MBBS students to 150 from the Academic year 2009-10. Accordingly, now 150 MBBS students admitted every year. The MCI has now given recognition for 150 MBBS Admissions per annum.

ASRAM Central Laboratory provides services round the clock under the supervision of Pathology Department.

Library: ASRAM Medical College Library was spread in an area of 4000 square Mts in Four floors. The library has collection of 19,017 books,75 Indian Journals, 46 Foreign Journals, 600 online Journals has access to Dr.N.T.R UHS E-Journals (NTRMEDNET) Programme from which all the journals of choice can be accessed.
