About School of Medical Sciences & Research

The School of Medical Sciences and Research (SMSR) was established in the year 2009 under Sharda University, which envisions an ambience of excellence, and inspiring value-based education, research and development.

SMSR is approved for an intake of 250 students in MBBS course by Medical Council of India and Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India. The school provides comprehensive facilities for teaching, research and patient care. The School of Medical Sciences and Research (SMSR) primarily imparts medical education of the highest standards to its MBBS and post graduate students and students of related biological sciences.

A high academic standard is maintained by an experienced and dedicated team of professors, clinicians and scientists, who are engaged in teaching, research and developing technologies in healthcare. The school adopts innovative methods in education with community-based teaching, learning and research. The educational goal of SMSR is to ensure a holistic development of theoretical and practical skills with the aim to prepare compassionate human beings, caring and courteous medical professionals, responsible and socially-conscious citizens.

One of the important requirements of the medical education program is the practical training, be it medical, nursing or paramedical courses. This is why SMSR is co-located with Sharda Hospital, a 1200 bed super-specialty hospital for imparting extensive clinical & practical training to its medical students.

Central Library

Libraries are the hub of the academic life of the Sharda University campus. Housed in spacious halls, the libraries are well stocked with textbooks, technical journals, periodicals, and reference material for advanced research and development work. The aim is to support the university’s educational, research, clinical, artistic, professional, and community-service goals. Moreover, an air-conditioned, central library is under the development phase which will remain open 24×7 for all students, faculty and staff.

Seminar Rooms

The University has multiple Seminar Rooms equipped with the latest audio-visual facilities which act as a common ground for students and faculty. The auditoriums and seminar rooms are extensively setup for regular interfaces, guest lectures, presentations, conferences, cultural events and other academic activities. The auditoriums and seminar rooms provide an excellent environment to support teaching and learning for both staff and students with complete audio-visual, sound and lighting support and stadium-style seating.

Hostel Mess

The hostel premises comprise of a separate dining facility for hostel residents. The hostel mess has a separate dining hall and a well-equipped kitchen catering to more than 3800 students. Mess serves breakfast, lunch, evening tea and dinner every day and the weekly menu is available with the mess in-charge. The food served is of high quality and meets the nutritional quality standards. Particular focus is laid to provide a well-balanced, nutritious diet with varying food tastes to all the students.

Eligibility & Admission Process for School of Medical Sciences & Research

Eligibility MBBS

– Pass with minimum 50 % marks in Intermediate (Bi.P.C)

– Must Qualify in NEET (National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test)

Admission Process

Admission to the MBBS programme is based on candidates’ performance in NEET. Once the NEET results are declared, then the eligible candidates are called for counselling process.
