About Saraswati Institute of Medical Sciences

Saraswathi Institute of Medical Sciences (SIMS), affiliated to Chaudhary Charan Singh (CCS) University, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, is a renowned and recognized institute in the field of medical education and research.

Established in 2008, SIMS got approval from Medical Council of India/Government of India to commence MBBS course with 100 students. SIMS got 100 seats in the year 2013. From the Academic year 2016-17, SIMS received approval for 50 additional M.B.B.S seats. Today, 550 students are pursuing MBBS course, in addition to 120 interns in the campus.

SIMS has also obtained permission to commence PG Courses from 2013-14 and is adding new branches in PG courses every year. At present there are 29 sanctioned PG seats in Pre-clinical, Para-clinical and Clinical departments. Since the beginning, students at SIMS are securing top ranks in the University examinations.

SIMS got ‘Best Medical College in Delhi-NCR’ by Brands Academy in March 2012. Facilities / Infrastructure in Saraswati Institute of Medical Sciences

Central Library

SIMS has a state of art, fully air-conditioned Central Library which is spread over an area of about 2455 sqm. It has a rich collection of latest books, national and international journals.

AUDITORIUM

SIMS has a spacious and fully air-conditioned auditorium in the college premises with an area of about 800 sqm and seating capacity of around 600. The auditorium has all modern audio-visual aids like Modern projectors with a Digital Sound System, OHPs, LCD screens, microphones, collar mikes etc. It hosts various socio-cultural events like annual day, farewells & welcome parties and academic events like conferences, workshops & CME’s and examinations throughout the year.

CENTRAL RESEARCH LAB (CRL)

Central Research Lab of SIMS, under the control of the principal, is well equipped with advanced research facilities for students and faculty. PCR LAB There is a state of art PCR Lab in SIMS under the control of Microbiology Department.

EXAMINATION HALL

The examination hall of SIMS is fully air conditioned and is constructed over an area of 250 sqm with a seating capacity for 250 students. It is well equipped with CCTV cameras and mobile jammers.

ANIMAL HOUSE

Department of Pharmacology maintains a licensed animal house for experimental work on animals for demonstration to the students.

CENTRAL PHOTOGRAPHIC SECTION

There is a Central Photographic and Audio-visual Section with accommodation for studio, dark room, enlarging and Photostat work.

CENTRAL WORKSHOP

Central Workshop has Electrical & Bio Medical Engineering Departments with facilities for repair of mechanical, electrical and electronic equipment’s of the college and hospital.

LECTURE THEATRES

SIMS has state of art, fully air-conditioned Lecture Theatres with all audio-visual aids like LCDs, OHPs, White boards, microphones, collar mikes, facilities of e-classes & virtual classes etc.

Hostels
SIMS provides good quality accommodation for its Undergraduate and Post Graduate students   with round-the-clock security. Rooms are big and well ventilated and offered on a twin-sharing basis with attached bathroom and toilet. Each room has been provided with study tables, chairs, book shelves, wardrobe and comfortable beds.

Each hostel has a dining hall and recreation room with TV, music system and other indoor facilities. Hostel accommodation for more than 100 interns and residents is also available. There is a separate hostel constructed for nursing students. Each hostel is supervised by four wardens. Visitor rooms are available in all hostels.

Mess
Only a healthy body houses a healthy mind. The management aims at providing the students hygienic, nutritious and tasty food of Indian cuisine, both vegetarian and non-vegetarian. The students are provided breakfast, lunch, evening snacks and dinner. The administrative staff of the college eats the same food to ensure that quality and hygiene are maintained. The mess in each hostel has RO plant installed for providing clean drinking water.

Recreation facilities

Indoor games available in hostels: Carom, Badminton, Chess, Table Tennis etc.

Gymnasium For maintaining physical fitness of students, SIMS has a well-equipped, air conditioned and high-tech gym with a trained instructor.

Outdoor games A spacious open playground is available for students to enjoy various sports activities like   cricket, football, etc.

Cultural/ Academic activities
There is a large and fully air-conditioned auditorium in the college premises with a seating capacity of 500. The auditorium has all modern audio-visual facilities and hosts various socio cultural and academic events throughout the year.

CANTEEN

Apart from Hospital canteen, the college block also has a canteen which supplies delicious and hygienic refreshments to student & staff members.

SIMS is attached to a more than 800-bedded hospital with ultra-modern equipment’s and facilities to provide outstanding and affordable medical care in a patient-friendly environment.  The hospital has OPD and IPD facilities for all the clinical specialties. It also provides round the clock accident and trauma care.

There are 11 major and 6 minor operation theatres, a well-equipped Labour room and Nursery Ward for premature babies. Besides these, there are 7 distinct ICUs for critically ill: (Medical, Cardiac, Surgical, Burn, Respiratory, Paediatric and Neonatal patients) which are fully equipped with all modern, sophisticated, therapeutic and monitoring equipment’s like Ventilators, Infusion Pumps, Phototherapy and Radiant Warmer units, Defibrillators, central gas and suction facilities with trained and qualified paramedical staff on duty 24X7.

The Hospital provides modern diagnostic and therapeutic facilities such as MRI-1.5 TESLA, Mammography, DSA, PCR, Spiral CT, Ultrasonography, Colour Doppler, TMT, ECHO, Endoscopy, Angiography, EEG, PFT, Sleep Study, NCV, EMG, VEP, BERA, Dialysis, Blood Bank etc. In addition, the hospital also provides a platform for training of UG and PG students in various fields of medicine.

SIMS is a regular participant in National Health Programmes such as National Blindness Control, Blood Safety, AIDS Control, Mental Health Programme, DOTS Programme besides organizing Health and Blood Donation Camps and contributing to community health effectively. We are also planning to establish a modern super specialty hospital having Neurology, Neurosurgery, Urology, Nephrology, Endocrinology etc. Further, our plan is to introduce various Para medical Courses in the upcoming years.

Our nursing college has already commenced with ANM and GNM courses.

Eligibility & Admission Process for Saraswati Institute of Medical Sciences

Eligibility MBBS

– Pass with minimum 50 % marks in Intermediate (Bi.P.C)

– Must Qualify in NEET (National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test)

Admission Process

Admission to the MBBS programme is based on candidates’ performance in NEET. Once the NEET results are declared, then the eligible candidates are called for counselling process.
